Alternative Investment Research and Technologies LLC (AIRT), a Credit Agricole Structured Asset Management company, partnered with the Center for International Securities and Derivatives Markets (CISDM) at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in May 2005 to manage and distribute the CASAM CISDM Database and the associated CASAM CISDM Indices calculated from this database. The CASAM CISDM Database (formerly the MAR Database), was one of the first hedge fund and CTA databases and began tracking CTAs in 1979 and hedge funds in 1992. The database currently tracks quantitative and qualitative information for over 5,500 hedge funds, fund of funds and CTAs.
The Center for International Securities and Derivatives Markets at the University of Massachusetts Amherst is a non-profit academic research center which focuses on security and investment fund performance in both U.S. and international asset markets. The goals of CISDM are to facilitate research in both traditional and alternative investment markets, to promote interactions between the academic and business communities, and to make available CISDM educational material on international financial markets to financial and non-financial firms.
